Running nonstop from Gettysburg to D.C.

Montgomery County, Maryland and the entire Metro D.C. area is a fantastic place for runners.  It’s tough to find a weekend when you’re not a quick drive to a race.  Last week, Jeannette and I participated in the American Odyssey Relay which is a a 200 mile relay from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Washington D.C.  The organizers did a phenomial job especially considering this was the inaugural event.

The running was fun, but the best part was hanging out with some great running buddies for 36 hours.  I took some video capturing the highlights.  Start training for 2010!

Very fun! Bruce I had no idea you were taping any of that. What a great idea and a great memory!

It a lot more fun than I could have imagined. It took me back to my college days!

  3. Tom

Awesome Bruce. Thanks for posting it.

Bruce, this is awesome! I keep trying to explain this to all my friends and I agree, it’s like a college road trip without the drinking. Thanks for putting it together!

Next year we definitely need to take some beer. But not too much – the 2nd day out is hard enough as it is.

Killjoy that I am, I intend to enforce the No Beer Until You Are Finished Running All Of Your Legs rule for my teammates! Okay, maybe just enough to numb the pain of the first leg…

OK Cathy, I wasn’t going to embarrass you by telling the world that you knew that 17 Across was “Kewpiedoll” *and* that you knew how to spell it without aid of an internet lookup or a dictionary! Who knows this stuff?? Only computers and aliens with big heads can crank out answers like you and Tom.

That’s just wrong, Bruce! Unmasking the Kewpie Doll and accusing me of being an alien with a big head! LOL
