Community Shred Event
Our Annual Document Shredding Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 17th from 3PM to 5PM at the Quince Orchard High School parking lot at the corner of Darnestown Road (MD28) and Quince Orchard Road. This will be our 5th year hosting this event.
This is always scheduled on the Saturday after taxes are due since most of us have boxes of personal documents that can’t go out with the trash. We hire a service, park the shredder truck and then get to work. Let us know in advance if you think you’ll have more than 5 boxes of stuff. Last year, we filled the truck to about two-thirds of its capacity. Common questions we get:
- What about binder clips, staples and paper clips? No worries – these will get grinded with the documents.
- Do you shred boxes/bags? No, you’ll need to take these home with you.
- Can you shred old credit cards, CDs and computer disks? Yep – these are OK too.
If you plan on attending, please register below. Don’t worry, we hate spam as much as you do, so we won’t bombard you with emails. By registering, we will notify you when this year’s event is scheduled.

On our first year, it must have rained 3 inches that afternoon. Hoping for great weather this year!
